Position Title: WASH Specialist - Expired Pharmaceutical Disposal Expert
Location: North-East Syria or Remote Work (from Iraq) in case of lockdown of the Country
Period: 3 months, with possibility of extension depending on need and resources availability
Sector(s) of intervention: WASH in HEALTH (Health Waste Management)

Requisiti

Titolo di studio: Laurea di secondo livello o specialistica
Indirizzo di studio facoltà: Bachelor degree in engineering, environmental management, natural sciences, social sciences, development cooperation or similar. A bachelor, a master degree or a specialization focused on waste management is considered an asset;
Esperienza pregressa: da 1 anno a 3 anni
Lingue conosciute: Inglese; Italiano (preferenziale); Arabo (preferenziale)

Skills

• Proven technical expertise in the field of health waste management and specifically on expired medicines management, with a consolidated work experience (at least four years) in the sector in technical positions (technical consultancies, expert or specialist positions, etc.);
• Proven technical knowledge of expired medicines’ disposal methods, including preparation of disposal sites;
• Experience in implementing trainings and capacity building on health waste management. Experience in implementing ToT is considered an asset;
• Experience in the creation of training materials, SoPs, technical documents etc. about health waste management;
• Strong organization and planning skills, ability to multitask and to prioritise work;
• Flexibility and adaptability, preparedness to work in a difficult environment with security constraints and challenging living conditions;
• Stress management skills and ability to work under pressure;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Proactive attitude, ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team;
• Detail-oriented with good time management skills;
• Excellent oral and written English.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
• Experience in the work with local municipalities and authorities, especially in developing countries;
• Previous field experience and international exposure;
• Previous experience in Middle East countries/in Syria;
• Knowledge of Arabic or Kurdish.

Profilo: Un Ponte Per (UPP) è un’associazione per la solidarietà internazionale e un’organizzazione non-governativa nata nel 1991, subito dopo la fine dei bombardamenti sull’Iraq, con il nome di “Un Ponte per Baghdad”, con lo scopo di promuovere iniziative di solidarietà per la popolazione irachena colpita dalla guerra.

Successivamente l’intervento dell'organizzazione si è esteso ad altri paesi del Medio Oriente e dell’area mediterranea, alla Serbia e al Kosovo. Lo scopo di UPP è la prevenzione dei conflitti armati e violenti, in particolare in Medio Oriente, attraverso campagne di informazione, scambi culturali, progetti di cooperazione, programmi di peacebuilding e costruzione di reti per la giustizia sociale.

Un Ponte Per opera da 28 anni in Italia e in Medio Oriente per promuovere pace, diritti umani e solidarietà tra i popoli.

Questo impegno viene realizzato attraverso campagne di advocacy, scambi di buone pratiche, progetti collaborativi, costruzione di coalizioni e azioni di rafforzamento delle capacità organizzative, strutturali e partecipative delle società civili con cui entra in contatto.
