Position Title: MEDICAL ADVISOR Chronic Diseases
Location: North-East Syria or Remote Work in case of lockdown of the Country
Period: 5 months (with possible renewal)
Closing date of the vacancy: 04 April 2021 (applications on a rolling basis)
Starting date: as soon as possible
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
o Minimum of five years professional experience in the medical sector.
o Experience of at least three years as practicing doctor in primary and/or secondary care
o Mandatory: some experience in coordinating programs of chronic diseases – Internal medicine
o Experience as teacher of medicine or nursing, in accredited institutions. Management of training center is an asset. On site clinical training is an asset.
o Innovative health care management experience
o Experience in clinical training. Training in internal medicine is an asset
o Experience in advising or managing chronic diseases programs in low income countries and / or health related conflictive areas
o Good understanding of the project life cycle management
o Excellent capacity to work in team.
o Proven capacities to plan activities successfully targeting results and objectives.
o Ability to supervise and/or mentor the medical staff.
o Previous work experience in humanitarian field.
o Working experience with local counterparts (CSOs, local NGOs, local institutions).
o Experience of planning, organizing and prioritizing work, working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
o Ability to work under pressure in stressful environments
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:
o Knowledge of the Middle East context and relevant local actors.
o Excellent oral and written English. Arabic is an asset
