Job position: Senior Admin/Finance Manager

Location: Gambella, Ethiopia

Start date: July 2025

Duration: 6 months

Purpose of the role

Working closely with project managers, the Senior Admin/Finance Manager will oversee the administrative management of the ongoing projects in the area, ensuring compliance with administrative and procurement procedures, preparing financial reports and supervising the management and maintenance of accounting by local accountants.

Key responsibilities

  • Overseeing accounting
  • Monitoring project expenditures and assisting the Project Managers in budgeting and drafting periodic financial reports
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement procedures
  • Overseeing the procurement procedures and ensure that purchases are supported by the correct documentation
  • Participating in the organization of tenders, ensuring the respect of donors’ and NGO procedures and the availability of required documentation
  • Managing cash and bank accounts dedicated to the projects
  • Supervising administrative and logistics national staff
  • Supporting the Project Managers in preparing quarterly funding requests
  • Guaranteeing that project activities are properly documented
  • Supporting the Project Managers in the administrative management of national staff and their contracts

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, University Degree in Economics or equivalent title
  • Excellent knowledge of English
  • Good knowledge of Italian
  • Mastery in using accounting applications
  • Previous experience in admin/finance management of international cooperation projects in fragile countries and/or low-resources settings

Condizioni contrattuali

Type of contract: collaboration contract

Salary: TBD according to NGO salary grids and compensation policy (basic salary for the job position, with possible increase based on professional experience)

Annual leave: 2.5 days for each month of work, for contracts longer than 4 months

Flight ticket: one return flight

Health issues: the NGO provides health insurance and covers vaccination costs

Visa and permits: the NGO bears the cost and paperwork for visa and work/residence permits

Accommodation: provided by the NGO, it is generally individual, depending on the logistical situation and the availability of accommodation in the workplace

Other costs: the NGO covers costs related to housing utilities and internet; food and personal expenses are covered by the worker
